Job Description
We are seeking a creative and skilled Fashion/Textile Designer with specialized expertise in women’s ethnic wear. You will be responsible for designing original collections, focusing on intricate embroidery, sophisticated prints, and flattering silhouettes. Your role will involve the entire design process—from concept development to final product specification—ensuring designs align with brand aesthetics and market trends.
• Design and develop innovative collections for women’s ethnic wear, including sarees, suits, lehengas, and kurtis.
• Create detailed technical sketches and specifications for embroidery layouts, print placements, and garment silhouettes.
• Research current and upcoming trends in fabrics, colors, embroidery techniques, and prints relevant to ethnic fashion.
• Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments in coordination with vendors.
• Oversee the sampling process, provide feedback to karigars or production units, and ensure design integrity is maintained.
Skill Requirement
The ideal candidate is a passionate designer with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in Indian ethnic wear. You must possess in-depth technical knowledge of garment construction, embroidery techniques, and textile printing, combined with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Proven experience and a strong portfolio in women’s ethnic wear design.
• In-depth knowledge of various embroidery techniques (zari, zardozi, threadwork, etc.), prints, and fabric manipulation.
• Expertise in creating diverse and contemporary silhouettes for ethnic garments.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
• Strong understanding of textiles, fabric properties, and the end-to-end garment development process.
• Excellent sketching and visualization skills with a strong sense of color, pattern, and texture.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and translate creative concepts into marketable products.
