Primary Responsibilities
- Technical Oversight: Lead and support all project phases (pre-design, design, construction, and closeout) while evaluating complex power distribution, emergency power, and critical systems.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Review plans, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure strict alignment with VA standards, applicable codes, and contract requirements.
- Construction Administration: Actively review construction activities, identify deficiencies, manage site inspections, and systematically track resolutions.
- Risk & Operational Management: Evaluate construction impacts on active medical operations, identifying infrastructure risks to maintain seamless patient care during multi-phase projects.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Address and resolve technical RFIs, submittals, and change orders while coordinating with distributed engineering teams and external contractors.
Eligibility Criteria
To ensure success in managing complex multi-phase healthcare environments, applicants must meet the following mandatory and preferred benchmarks:
- U.S. Citizenship & Security: Must hold U.S. Citizenship and possess the ability to successfully pass a background investigation to obtain a VA PIV badge.
- Education & Experience: A Bachelorโs Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) paired with 5โ10 years of proven, relevant engineering experience.
- Licensure: An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is strictly required for this role.
- Sector Familiarity: Prior background supporting commercial, healthcare, or federal infrastructure projects is required, with a strong emphasis on emergency power systems.
