Job Overview:
- Role: Medical Biller I
- Location: Chatsworth, CA (On-Site)
- Compensation: $21.00 – $27.25 per hour
- Schedule: Alternative Work Week (Mon–Thurs 7:30am–5:00pm, Fri 7:30am–12:30pm)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Managing Hospital, Physician, Outpatient, and Managed Care claims.
- Conducting follow-ups on outstanding accounts receivable.
- Verifying insurance payment accuracy and assigning posting codes.
- Utilizing insurance websites to check real-time claim status.
Eligibility Criteria: Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent. We require a minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, specifically with out-patient hospital and physician billing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a typing speed of at least 30 wpm are essential to handle daily documentation tasks effectively.
Eligibility Criteria: Technical Knowledge
Candidates must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding, as well as modifiers and surgical procedure codes. Familiarity with Medicare Part A and B, alongside Medi-Cal, HMO/PPO, and Managed Care billing guidelines, is strictly required.
Eligibility Criteria: Preferred Skills
While not mandatory, having a Medical Billing and Coding certificate is highly beneficial. We value individuals who can work both independently and collaboratively, ensuring that our claims process remains efficient and compliant with all HIPAA Security and Privacy rules.
