Job Overview

  • Position: Student Worker – Support Technician for Development & Advancement

  • Pay Rate: Starting at $11.00 per hour
  • Hours: Up to 15 hours per week (Scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.)
  • Shifts: Monday through Friday adjustments based on class schedules

Primary Responsibilities

  • Computer Data Entry: Process and input critical organizational information into the central system of record with high accuracy.
  • Online Research: Conduct targeted digital research tasks to support advancement operations.
  • Data Uploads: Perform simple data batch uploads into secure departmental databases.
  • Document Management: Scan and index physical documents directly into the specialized OnBase imaging system.

Eligibility Criteria

To maintain operational integrity, applicants must possess strong computer skills and a baseline proficiency with core office applications, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. A high level of attention to detail and standard data accuracy are required to handle the platform updates effectively.

Because this role handles sensitive university records, candidate must demonstrate the absolute ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Reliability, dependability, and an independent work ethic utilizing pre-established guidelines are foundational expectations for this position.

Furthermore, a successful student worker must communicate effectively, demonstrating a clear willingness to ask questions when guidance is needed, while operating smoothly in both team-oriented and independent settings. Candidates must also have a personal computer set up to facilitate working remotely whenever campus operations require it.


Work Environment & Schedule Flexibility

The selected candidate will work directly out of Lyle Hall on the vibrant Millersville campus, requiring the physical capacity to sit and utilize standard computer setups for the duration of an assigned shift. Understanding the rigorous demands of college life, the department encourages applicants to submit their current class schedules so managers can tailor weekly shifts around academic and extra-curricular commitments. Due to the extensive onboarding and systems training involved, preferred consideration will be given to dedicated students who are available to continue working through winter and summer academic breaks.
