Primary Responsibilities
- Virtual Triage & Patient Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for patient calls and portal messages, answering questions and routing clinical data.
- Prior Authorization & Insurance Coordination: Submit and track prior authorizations for psychiatric medications while verifying insurance eligibility.
- Prescription Coordination: Manage prescription refill requests and coordinate closely with pharmacies on clarifications.
- Scheduling: Maintain provider calendars by managing new appointments, follow-ups, reminders, and cancellations.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Eligibility Criteria
To be successful in this role, candidates must hold a current Medical Assistant certification and have 1 to 3 years of experience working as a medical assistant. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and comfort utilizing virtual patient platforms (telephone, text, messaging, and video software) are essential.
While not strictly required, training or prior experience in behavioral health, psychiatric services, or ambulatory care is highly preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems, integrated care models, and clinical workflows will give you a significant advantage.
