Primary Responsibilities
- Accurate Code Assignment: Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to assign high-quality ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT codes for inpatient and outpatient occurrences.
- System Abstracting: Enter required clinical data seamlessly into designated electronic medical record (EMR) systems while verifying patient dispositions and physician metrics.
- Collaborative Quality Assurance: Partner directly with Health Information Management (HIM) and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) specialists to refine documentation, support clean billing, and mitigate backend denials.
- Queue Management: Maintain daily workflow queues efficiently, handling accounts on ABS hold and correcting structural errors in a timely fashion.
- Provider Queries: Constructively query medical providers to resolve missing, vague, or conflicting clinical details according to official regulatory standards.
Eligibility Criteria

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or an equivalent baseline of professional healthcare experience.
- Strict adherence to the Standards of Ethical Coding as established by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher alongside rigid productivity metrics.
- Strong independent communication and operational management skills necessary for a completely remote office framework.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program or an Accredited Baccalaureate Health Informatics/Health Information Management degree.
